We see that there is a great demand for a natural panel that ages to a silver gray tone and does not need much maintenance. The times we live in today suggest that products like this are getting bigger and bigger. We simply do not have the time to spend on maintaining our properties and villas.
There are many different treatments to turn your natural panel into a beautiful silver grey. But it is important to read thoroughly to know which product is right for you and your project. An old method that has been used for a long time is iron vitriol, this is an older technique that was used, among other things, in timber repair to make it imitate older wood like the rest of the project. It will be a beautiful and natural result, but it is never possible to know exactly how the end result will be as there is a lot that comes into play, for example raw material, location, weather and wind. The disadvantage of iron vitriol is that it has no wood protection in it, so if you want a similar result as iron vitriol or, for example, tar vitriol but with a good wood protection against rot, Linax is a good and durable choice.
A beautiful wall in Linax nature that has stood on a project for over ten years has now started to take on a beautiful silver gray tone. As the building has no overhanging eaves, the panel gets a uniform gray color as the UV rays reach all the way up.
The thing to consider if the building has roof overhangs or window tinting is that where the UV rays do not reach, it will take longer for the wood to turn gray and some areas may not turn gray at all. That is the charm of a natural cladding.
This superior, linseed oil treated timber makes for a longer-lasting product and carries an extended 12- year product warranty. Linax is also guaranteed against rot for 50 years and has extended maintenance intervals. Linax cladding is FSC certified and made from Swedish pine.
Heat-treated wood completely without added chemicals, which is done by heating the wood under vacuum to over 200C. The high temperature causes a series of chemical and physical processes to start in the wood. The result is a product that is more dimensionally stable and above all more resistant to rot without adding any chemicals.
