The exterior design of the house is meticulously crafted to refresh the surrounding environment with a modern and contemporary architectural touch. It is a sustainable wood finish that not only imparts a sense of natural beauty but also guarantees a maintenance-free existence that matures gracefully into a captivating silvery grey tone over time.

Given the owner Karlis’s daily involvement in the design and production of wooden panel and modular homes, the decision was clear – to create an environmentally-conscious, energy-efficient abode that not only excels in remarkable energy performance but also stands as a visually unique masterpiece. The choice to build the house in Valmiera was significantly influenced by the city’s attributes. Valmiera is a modern, well-maintained urban area with a developed infrastructure. It stands apart for its peacefulness, lacking the excessive noise, congestion, and large crowds often associated with bigger cities. This characteristic is a gift for those seeking a more unhurried environment, where families with children can truly relish their daily lives.

While initially considering a regular painted wooden finish for the home, Karlis’s daily interactions with Linax cladding in the Scandinavian market led him to realise its suitability for our climatic conditions as well.  This choice eliminates the need for frequent refurbishments and frees homeowners from concerns about maintenance, facade deterioration, and wear and tear. Furthermore, this cladding exudes an enchanting charm under diverse lighting conditions. Rain-kissed, it transforms into a rich amber hue, imbuing the house with an iridescent allure that surpasses the ordinary appeal of standard painted wooden finishes.
