Double wood protection with warm linseed oil.

After the traditional wood protection according to UC3, the wood is boiled in linseed oil. The oil is boiled into the surface of all six sides, which reduces moisture absorption into the wood and gives a dimensionally stable product over time. The result is a timber product with protection against rot and long maintenance intervals, which saves both time and money.

Linax is delivered in the colours natural, brown and grey.

Linax is available in the colours, Linax Natural, Linax Brown and Linax Grey. There may be colour variations on the Linax wood. Linax Brown & Grey have an additional pigment added during treatment which is boiled into the surface on all sides. The colours add a surface tone to the wood which gives a beautiful product with a lot of life and a wooden feel. Heartwood and sapwood absorb varying amounts of pigment, which can give rise to colour variations on the surface. Initially, some green tones may be visible from the UC3 treatment, but this will fade when Linax is installed and exposed to UV rays from the sun and rain.

A fine sawn surface finish, as found on Linax cladding, gives a slightly darker shade with better colour retention, compared to a planed surface such as decking. Linax Grey decking can have a larger variation in colour initially and we recommend taking a look at our references images on the projects page to get a good idea of how the product looks once installed.

Natural.

Linax Natural is a golden brown when newly produced. Over time, the wood gets a weather grey tone.

Linax oil.

All wood requires maintenance and so does Bitus Linax. However, the quality of Linax treated wood is much higher and requires significantly less maintenance than normal wood. Over time, the oil in the outermost layer is worn away and washed away by precipitation. As with other painted wood, the color pigments will fade. Linax oils are required for the installation and maintenance of Linax products.
