Bitus takes pride in being a dedicated provider for architect Edd Rushton. Villa Lundberg, showcased on the renowned show Grand Designs Sweden 2022, truly stands out.

Nestled in the lush surroundings of Margretelund, a part of Stockholm’s picturesque archipelago, this modern, forward-thinking villa boasts both innovation and eco-consciousness. The project gained widespread attention through its feature on TV4’s Grand Designs Sweden (Season 3, Episode 4) and garnered recognition across various design publications.

While drawing inspiration from the recognisable forms and materials of Scandinavian design, the architecture of Villa Lundberg takes a contemporary approach by incorporating sleek, minimalist details and sharp lines. This harmonious blend results in a fresh interpretation of timeless architectural concepts.

“We chose Linax for the 50-year rot warranty and the nice grey finish”.

Edd Rushton

The residence is strategically divided based on its functions, spread across two distinct sections or “houses” – one designated for living and the other for rest. These two components are linked by a versatile Winter Garden that seamlessly extends to a terrace and garden area.

The architectural design involves the placement of two sharply defined, sloping-roofed structures, each rotated on the plot to align with site boundaries and make the most of sunlight patterns and garden vistas.

Expansive glass panels adorn the western and southern facades, serving to capture captivating views of the garden and harness the warmth of the evening sun. On the contrary, the northern and eastern facades exhibit a more enclosed nature. This intentional arrangement functions as a shield, ensuring privacy from the two adjacent roads that border the property.

“I love the contrast between the black cladding and the grey patio”.
