Sustainability.
For us, the environment and sustainability are obvious issues in everyday life. We are not satisfied with wood being a sustainable product, but work long-term with our entire business to contribute to a sustainable society.
Our raw material comes from responsibly managed forests and is certified.
We continuously work to reduce our climate footprint, e.g. by gradually switching to the latest technology and actively influencing our subcontractors.
Certificates.
Bitus has two traceability certificates in accordance with FSC® Licence code FSC C021843 Certificate code CU-COC-805617, FSC® certified products available on request and PEFC.
The group must follow PEFC’s and FSC’s requirements and intentions, and is responsible for ensuring that the raw material does not come from illegal logging, key biotopes, forest areas where traditional or civil rights are violated, forests where high conservation values are threatened, genetically engineered trees or natural forest that has been cut down for the purpose of using the area for plantations or non-forest land use, the ILO’s core conventions are violated.

The Natural Cycle.
Our sustainability strategy supports a circular economy.
We process raw materials from sustainable forests close to our local facilities in the Baltic Sea region. Properly managed, these forests will provide raw materials that will never run out. New forests are also being planted, managed, and used for products that have long useful lives and promote the creation of a sustainable society. Any waste products are recycled or reused as bioenergy in both solid and liquid form, and, after combustion, carbon is stored in the atmosphere for growing forests again.
