High on the cliffs of Ättarö, with sweeping views across the sea and archipelago, sits a home that allows the landscape to set the tone. Here, the architecture has been shaped by the conditions of nature, not the other way around.
The building rests gently on piers and a steel structure, allowing the rock itself to remain an integral part of the landscape. This creates the impression that the house is almost floating above the ground, while still feeling deeply rooted in its surroundings.
Architecture, function and emotion come together in a calm and cohesive whole, where the boundary between indoors and outdoors begins to dissolve. Light flows freely through the spaces, the horizon is ever-present, and every detail contributes to a sense of tranquillity, sustainability and permanence.
A home designed not simply to withstand nature, but to live in harmony with it.
The texture, tones and natural character of the wood are allowed to take centre stage and evolve over time, changing with the seasons. It is a material that does not compete with the landscape, but enhances it.

With the sea as its neighbour and a focus on materials, Villa Ättarö takes shape as a home where every detail feels entirely natural.

In this exposed setting, where wind, salt and weather are a constant presence, the choice of materials is crucial. The Linax façade follows the rhythm of nature, protected deep within while retaining a living expression that interacts with the light and its surroundings.
